USTA Florida is proud to announce the return of its Juneteenth Tennis Event Grants for 2025. As part of our ongoing AMPLIFY initiative, which highlights and uplifts Black voices in tennis across the state, USTA Florida is offering ten one-time reimbursement grants of $200 to support Juneteenth tennis events in June. The application window opens May 19 and closes June 19.
These grants are designed to help local providers organize impactful community events that celebrate Juneteenth while introducing new participants to tennis. Events must occur during the month of June 2025, include at least 15 participants, and be led by a Safe Play-approved provider. Most importantly, each event must show a clear commitment to diversity and inclusion and incorporate Juneteenth education in some form.
Approved events might include partnerships with organizations like NJTLs, 100 Black Men, Jack and Jill, Boys and Girls Clubs, or Black Greek Life and Chambers of Commerce. Creative ideas for celebration can include live music, food trucks, guest speakers, Black artists and vendors, or interactive exhibits that explore the history and significance of Juneteenth.
Grant recipients are required to submit a post-event Accountability Report detailing the event’s outcomes and impact.
This opportunity supports both community engagement and grassroots tennis growth, while honoring a pivotal moment in American history. It’s an excellent way for providers to promote equity, connect with local residents, and offer a meaningful tennis experience.
