MEMPHIS, Tenn — One of Memphis’ longest running and most cherished events returns for the 32nd year!

Dr. Telisa Franklin’s Memphis Juneteenth Festival will be held at Medical District Park (formerly the Health Science Park) at Madison Avenue and Dunlap Street on June 6 and June 7, 2025.

Admission for the event is free.

The celebration honors the history of Juneteenth, commemorating the day when enslaved African Americans in Texas finally learned of their emancipation on June 19, 1865.

The Memphis Juneteenth Festival will feature a diverse lineup of cultural performances, community activities, and opportunities to support local businesses.

Guests can also enjoy live music, dance performances showcasing local talent and local food trucks offering everything from southern cooking to vegetarian options.

The following events and organizations will also be featured at the festival:

  • Health and wellness tent offering free services, including blood pressure checks, dental evaluations and eye exams. (June 6, 10 a.m.)
  • LaterSkaters Memphis will offer free skate lessons and an opportunity for skaters to connect. A portable skate space will be constructed for the event. (June 6, noon)
  • “The Path from Slavery to Freedom” Outside Museum documents the history of slavery from Ghana to America and the emancipation that followed. (June 6 and 7, 10 a.m.)
  • The Memphis Juneteenth Car Show will display cars from throughout the Mid-South and surrounding areas, from old to new.
  • The Men of Impact Discussion has been scheduled to discuss and create a movement of Black Men who are empowered to create safe, healthy, and nurturing environments in their homes. The discussion strives to advance education and mental health while addressing the impact of trauma within the Black community.
