This year’s Juneteenth festival will once again be held by the United Community Organization (UCO).

This year will be a three-day celebration of culture, history, and community under the powerful theme, “And Still… WE Thrive!” Taking place from June 19th to June 21st, this annual festival commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans while honoring the resilience and excellence of the community.

Festivities kick off on June 19th at 7:00 p.m. with the highly anticipated Miss Juneteenth Pageant | Sunday’s Best Edition, held on the Albemarle Stage.

This elegant showcase highlights the grace, leadership, and talent of young women across the region.

On June 20th at 7:00 p.m., the celebration continues with the Juneteenth Gospel Explosion at MPAC, an energizing evening of local gospel talent and powerful praise performances.

The grand finale takes place on June 21st, with a full schedule of family-friendly activities.

The day begins at 7:30 a.m. with the 2nd Annual Juneteenth Freedom 5K Run/Walk at 100 East University Street–sponsored by We Have Arrived, LLC, followed by the spirited Juneteenth Parade at 10:00 a.m., stretching from Main Street to Pine Street.

Midday activities include Storytime & Movie for Kids at 11:30 a.m. (Columbia County Library, ages 5–12), and Canvas & Kicks at 12:30 p.m. (SAU Student Event Center, ages 13–18).

From 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the community will gather for Festival Fun, featuring live music, entertainment, local vendors, dance showcase, bounce houses, bingo, and more.
