Illinois Soul 101.1 FM, in partnership with Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, will be celebrating their Second Annual Illinois Soul Juneteenth Concert featuring Black Star phenom Talib Kweli. Taking place on Krannert Center’s Stage 5 on Wednesday, June 18th, they invite the community to celebrate freedom, culture, and connection.
Illinois Soul shared:
“Whether working with Mos Def as one-half of Black Star, partnering with producer Hi-Tek for Reflection Eternal, releasing landmark solo material or collaborating with Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Just Blaze, J Dilla, or Madlib, Talib Kweli commands attention by delivering top-tier lyricism, crafting captivating stories and showing the ability to rhyme over virtually any type of instrumental.”
On this vibrant celebration on the eve of Juneteenth, you can register to win promotional giveaways, and join a lively atmosphere powered by community connection. A cash bar will be available, and attendees are encouraged to stay tuned to Illinois Soul for a full summer lineup of events coming soon. Following the concert, the celebration continues with the “official” after party at Neil Street Blues, located at 301 N. Neil St. in downtown Champaign.
Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of Talib Kweli, culture, and unity. Bring your friends, bring your energy—and come ready to celebrate freedom, heritage, and Juneteenth with Illinois Soul.
