The Indiana Black Expo hosted its Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair Saturday afternoon.

The event commemorated African American freedom and emphasized education and achievement in Black communities.

There was live entertainment from area musicians and entertainers, a blood drive, as well as food and merchandise vendors.

South Bend Chapter Indiana Black Expo Chapter President Latorya Greene said, “We’re coming out here celebrating freedom, but then also be able to support a lot of our Black-owned businesses. So we have to make sure we have not only our sponsors in place to really support the great work that we’re doing, but then also vendors as well. But then we also need that third piece of the triangle, which is the community to be able to come out and really support this great event that we’re having today.”

Organizers say the event is a great way to bring the South Bend community together.
