A South Carolina teenager has been charged with murder following a shooting that reportedly left one person dead and nine inured at a Juneteenth event in Anderson, South Carolina, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

In a June 23 news release, the sheriff’s office said Tiyelle Rakelle Demon Hollings, 18, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime for the incident that reportedly happened along Scarborough Road around 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 21.

More than 100 first responders were called to the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. According to the release, 35-year-old Laporshia Cobb, died at the scene after reportedly being struck by gunfire.

The sheriff’s office’s report said that Hollings fired several shots during the event, which was reportedly attended by hundreds in the Anderson County neighborhood.

Detectives said incident bystanders were struck by bullets.

“We know hundreds of people attended the event within this Anderson County neighborhood. As a result, this diligent investigation continues as investigators look into additional persons of interest and how the scene unfolded,” the sheriff’s office said in the release.

The sheriff’s office said additional arrests are possible.

Hollings is at the Anderson County Detention Center and will make his first court appearance at 4 p.m. June 23.
