Celebrate Juneteenth at the third annual Freedom Festival at Whitney Plantation

The Whitney Plantation will host its third annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival — a full-day celebration centered on culture, community, and the legacy of Black resilience.The free, family-friendly event features live music, panel discussions, interactive storytelling, and engaging activities for all ages. Visitors can shop a marketplace filled with local Black artists and artisans and enjoy dishes from some of the region’s favorite food trucks.Festivalgoers are also encouraged to explore the Whitney Plantation itself — the only plantation museum in Louisiana devoted exclusively to the history and legacy of slavery.
