ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) – Juneteenth marks the enforcement of the proclamation in Texas with the Civil War ending in a Union victory.
To celebrate events are being held throughout the Permian Basin.
- The Black Cultural Council of Odessa will be hosting five days of celebration, for a full list of activities click here.
- In Midland, celebrations start with a Mr. & Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant on Wednesday, June 19th.
