
Organizers are preparing to host the sixth annual Apopka Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Transform Outreach LLC founder and Apopka Juneteenth Chairwoman Keyomi Jones, alongside Apopka Juneteenth Scholarship Chairman Johnny Simmons, joined WESH 2’s Sanika Dange to preview the event.The event will begin with the parade at 2 p.m. at the corner of 10th Street and South Central Avenue in Apopka. The festival will be held immediately after at Alonzo Williams Park.As part of the celebration, Apopka Juneteenth will award several high school juniors and seniors scholarships to round out the 2025 essay contest.The free event will include a kids’ corner, music, live entertainment, food, historical displays and more. Organizers aim to celebrate the progress of African Americans while recommitting the community’s efforts toward equality, equity and education.
