Cheyenne’s Juneteenth Celebration slated for June 15

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – While the official Juneteenth Holiday is not until Wednesday, June 19 the NAACP 4108 Cheyenne Chapter is holding a celebration this Saturday to “honor the past, while celebrating the future”.

Being held at Martin Luther King Jr. Park this event will be complete with “Vibrant speakers, games and crafts, “Spades” tournament and the celebrated Red Velvet Cake competition, live music, soul food and cooling refreshments”.

Food trucks and Vendors will be available for guests to enjoy.

Pastor Stephen Latham says about the event “it’s a national holiday and its a holiday for everybody its just not a Black holiday it’s a holiday for all Americans and its part of American history not just Black history so everybody should want to come out and celebrate”.

The celebration will start at 8 A.M. and will conclude at 4 P.M.
