
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The City of Toledo is inviting the community to take part in The Juneteenth Experience, a weeklong celebration to honor and celebrate Black excellence and freedom.
The celebration will kickoff on June 13 with a Pan-African flag raising at 10 a.m. at the flagpole median of Jackson Street in front of One Government Center.
The city says The Juneteenth Experience will continue through June 21 and will feature the following events:
- Community United Juneteenth Parade
- Saturday, June 14
- Line-up at 9 a.m.; Step-off at 10 a.m.
- Begins at Summit and Monroe Streets and ends at One Government Center on Jackson Street
- Vince Davis Community Health and Wellness Fair hosted by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity
- Saturday, June 14 from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Martin Luther King Academy located at 1300 Forest Avenue
- Free health screenings activities for kids giveaways and more
- Fourth Annual Juneteenth Rooftop Celebration hosted by the NAACP Alpha Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and Toledo Lucas County Public Library
- Saturday, June 14 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- 325 North Michigan Street
- Powell’s Juneteenth Celebration
- Saturday, June 14 from 10:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Powell’s Beauty and Barber Supply located at 901 Nebraska Avenue
- Live performances food trucks vendors music and activities for kids
- All ages welcome
- Toledo Juneteenth Celebration Cultural Heritage Festival
- Thursday June 19 from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Glass City Pavilion and Event Lawn located at 1001 Riverside Drive
- Free event with live entertainment food trucks local vendors activities and games
- All ages welcome
- Juneteenth Celebration at the Toledo Museum of Art
- Thursday, June 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Toledo Museum of Art located at 804 Art Museum Drive
- Art making music movement and storytelling honoring Black history and freedom
- The Family Center is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with separate registration
- All ages welcome
- FAMED Studios Recital Coming to America
- Friday, June 20
- Doors open at 3 p.m. and the show begins at 3:30 p.m.
- Maumee Indoor Theater located at 601 Conant Street
- A performance exploring immigration experiences and cultural identity
- Get 2 It Boxing Show
- Saturday, June 21 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

- Community event promoting peace and safety for youth
- Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Juneteenth Brunch
- Saturday, June 21

- Celebrating 2025 scholarship recipients with live entertainment a silent auction and day party
- Cost: $65 dollars
- Afrocentric attire encouraged
