CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Celebrations for Juneteenth continued through the weekend at the Dairy Market.
Krissy Cakes and The Dairy Market partnered together to host a Juneteenth Block Party.
There was something for all ages, from vendors, to performances, food, and so much more.
It was free and brought people together to celebrate the meaning behind Juneteenth.
“A lot of people, not just in this community are not really aware of Juneteenth or don’t celebrate it. This was our attempt to bring the community as well as us together as one to celebrate,” Krissy Cakes Owner Kristy Jones said.
Organizers want to thank the Charlottesville Police Department for its part in the celebration. CPD had a booth set up to meet the community and hand out prizes to kids.
