The West Hartford Juneteenth Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at West Hartford Town Hall, 50

“Let’s come together for an unforgettable Juneteenth Community Celebration on June 14, as we honor the legacy of freedom, resilience, and achievement in African American history,” wrote event organizers.

Juneteenth is a national holiday that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States.

Calling the free event a “high-energy celebration filled with music, culture, and community pride,” organizers are making a final-month push to raise money for the event.

“We need your help in reaching our fundraising goal in the final days. Please consider a donation of any amount,” wrote organizers.

The goal is to raise $4,500, with the amount raised as of Tuesday, May 13, at $3,310.
