The Georgetown County Library has announced the lineup of events for their inaugural Juneteenth Festival, which will take place throughout June, across multiple dates and locations.

This vibrant community celebration aims to honor Black heritage, history, and culture with a full schedule of educational, artistic, and inspirational events for all ages.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of engaging experiences including art exhibits storytelling, crafts, workshops, performances, and a Black Business Expo.

The schedule of signature events for the festival is listed below.

June 7 (11 a.m. –4 p.m.): Paying Homage

Celebrate with an art exhibit by Natalie Daise, history exhibits, a Writer’s Circle, arts & crafts, and more.

June 14 (11 a.m. –6 p.m.): Black Business Expo

Explore local Black-owned businesses, attend empowering workshops, and enjoy live talent and vendors.

June 16 (2 p.m.–6 p.m.): Artist Alley – Part One

Enjoy hands-on experiences with Sweetgrass crafts by Jennifaye Singleton and Gullah doll making sponsored by Zenobia Harper.

June 17 (3 p.m.): Artist Alley – Part Two

Join Ron Daise for Gullah storytelling, with Gullahlicious pound cakes and books available for purchase.

In addition to these events, the festival will also showcase a writer’s circle, handmade dolls, sweetgrass, line dancing, gullah storytelling, and artist alley and more.

All events will take place at Georgetown County Library which is located on Cleland Street in Georgetown.
