The Galveston County Coalition for Justice believes Galveston Councilwoman Sharon Lewis should at least listen to the African American community and her District 1 constituents who are protesting for a Juneteenth museum at the former L.A. Morgan School

The African American community thinks the school would be perfect for a Juneteenth museum because it sits on 4.5 acres, it has two parking lots, plenty of green space and enough land to build a freedom park in honor of Dr. Leon Augustus Morgan; it also is turn-key ready to move in.
