Saturday marked the city of Huntington’s first Juneteenth Celebration at Centennial Park.
Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger ordered the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Galveston following the Civil War.
