ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The Juneteenth Atlanta Parade and Music Festival begins at Piedmont Park this weekend.
The Juneteenth Atlanta Black History Parade steps off at noon on Saturday near The King Center on Auburn Ave NE. The public is invited to line the streets up and down Boulevard and Monroe to watch the parade pass by, then follow it to Piedmont Park and join the festival already taking place in the park.
Drivers should expect delays in the area.

Event organizer Brad Lewis said this weekend is about celebrating freedom, unity and equality.
“We’re taking it to a whole new level. We’re in a new venue, from Centennial, to Piedmont Park,” Lewis said. “Which in my opinion is probably one of the best venues in Atlanta.”
Lewis told Atlanta News First the ongoing theme is the youth leading the way.
“I think it’s going to be an excellent opportunity for Atlanta’s biggest melting pot,” he said. “This even appeals to everyone because it’s about freedom.”
