TEXARKANA (KSLA) – Hundreds of visitors were at the Four States Fair Ground in Texarkana Saturday (June 21) to participate in the annual Citywide Juneteenth Festival.
The event kicked off with a parade. The celebration was sponsored by the Scholars, a nonprofit organization supporting area youths, and the Sigmas.
Leaders say these organizations are committed to helping people better themselves, the community, and the generation to come.
This is the first time the celebration was held at the Four States Fair grounds.
Officials said the event was a chance to unite volunteers from neighborhoods across the city of Texarkana to serve and uplift the community.
