
FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the United States.
It marks June 19th, 1865, the day thousands of enslaved people in Texas first learned they were free, more than 2 years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
Fargo City Hall and the Spirit of the Sandbagger monument will be illuminated in celebration of Juneteenth on the evening of Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
