TOLEDO, Ohio — Juneteenth, which occurs on June 19 ever year, is just around the corner. In northwest Ohio, there are many events scheduled to celebrate the holiday.
Here’s where and when you find events that commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States.
Toledo
Juneteenth Celebration | Toledo Library | Saturday, June 14 (7 p.m.)
Celebrate Juneteenth with an evening of music, food, and community on the rooftop, in partnership with the NAACP Toledo Branch and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Enjoy DJMPRESS setting the vibe, delicious bites, and a beer and wine bar at this 21+ event.
Juneteenth Freedom Through Art | Toledo Museum of Art | Thursday, June 19 (11 a.m.)
Celebrate Juneteenth with a day of art, music, and storytelling that uplifts Black voices and explores the journey from emancipation to expression. Enjoy live performances, interactive art-making, guided tours, and wellness sessions. The event is free and open to the public.
Distant Cousinz Trio will perform during one of the ConnecToledo summer concert events, with this particular concert focusing on celebrating Juneteenth. The concert is free and open to the public, and will run until approximately 9 p.m.
Juneteenth 2.5 Mile Run | Glass City Metropark | Thursday, June 19 (6:19 p.m.)
Celebrate Juneteenth with a lively 2.5-mile run/walk and a free 1K for kids at Glass City Metropark. Enjoy family-friendly activities throughout the day while honoring the history and significance of June 19, 1865.

Juneteenth Brunch & Silent Auction | The Pinnacle | Saturday, June 21 (11:30 a.m.)
Celebrate Juneteenth in style at the Annual Juneteenth Brunch & Silent Auction, hosted by the Zeta Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. This event honors 2025 scholarship recipients and features live music from Distant Cousinz, along with great food, dancing, and fellowship. Don’t miss the silent auction, where you can bid on incredible items while supporting community programs and scholarships.
