
Juneteenth Festival of Buffalo will take place June 14th-15th at Martin Luther King Jr. Park
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Juneteenth Festival of Buffalo honors Buffalo’s rich cultural history, celebrating freedom and resilience. The 2025 Juneteenth Festival of Buffalo takes place June 14 and 15 Martin Luther King Jr. Park, Buffalo, NY.
This year’s Juneteenth Festival of Buffalo will have all the traditional festival activities and entertainment including the Juneteenth Parade, 10am on Saturday, June 14. The Juneteenth Buffalo Parade is a festival highlight you do not want to miss. The parade kicks off at 10am at Genesee & Ivy Streets and continues down Genesee Street to Fillmore Ave and MLK Jr. Park.
All are welcome to take part in this long-running summertime tradition in Western New York. Festival activities include Arts & Cultural displays and performances, Health & Wellness pavilion, Historical tours & education programs, vendor market, Food and much more! The Juneteenth Festival of Buffalo began in 1976 by B.U.I.L.D., a community-based organization. The festival took place on Jefferson Avenue, for a weekend celebration, with murals painted and vendor booths selling ethnic foods and wares along with music and entertainment festivities. The Juneteenth Festival eventually outgrew Jefferson Avenue and moved to Martin Luther King Jr. Park.
The Juneteenth Festival of Buffalo, now in its 50th year continues with the help of resolute volunteers and the mission to actively preserve and promote the broad spectrum of African American Heritage through educational and cultural activities to benefit the community.
