Juneteenth GVL Royal Gala nearly sold out in Greenville, SC
Greenville’s 4th Annual Juneteenth celebration weekend kicks off June 13 with a night of music, art, and community at the Embassy Suites on Verdae.
The fourth annual Juneteenth GVL Celebration Weekend is set to begin Friday, June 13 with a gala honoring Black excellence, cultural expression and community.The Royal Gala will be held at the Embassy Suites on Verdae Boulevard. It will feature live performances, a scholarship ceremony, and a marketplace showcasing local Black-owned businesses. The event serves as the opening night for the Juneteenth GVL weekend, which includes four signature events scheduled through Sunday, June 16.This year’s theme, “Celebrating Black Men and Promoting Community,” highlights critical issues such as mental health, homeownership, and veteran recognition.Attendees can expect live music from Georgia-based group Trap Jazz and violinist Dominique Hammons, along with a dance floor, DJ, and a live art auction. The evening will also spotlight ten local artists through the Royal Gala Art Showcase and a Freedom Marketplace featuring Black-owned vendors.A highlight of the evening will be the crowning of Mr. and Miss Juneteenth GVL, who will each receive scholarships to support their educational goals.Renee Floyd, Juneteenth GVL Secretary and Gala Director said the event brings people together to celebrate, to educate, and show how we can all come together in unity for the community.
