
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Juneteenth is the emancipation of the last enslaved individuals in the United States on June 19th, 1865, post-Civil War.
This national holiday has been officially recognized every June 19th since President Biden signed the federal legislation on June 17, 2021. Juneteenth is a time for reflection, joy, and community celebration, highlighting the ongoing journey towards freedom and equality.
