
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Communities across the Midlands are also set to celebrate Juneteenth with a variety of events.
Juneteenth, celebrated annually on June 19, marks the day in 1865 when the last of the Southern slaves in Texas learned of their freedom.
It was made a federal holiday in 2021.
