ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Below is a list of Juneteenth celebrations taking place in the St. Louis area on Wednesday.

  • The Griot Museum: The Free Dome Celebration will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The Griot is located at 2505 St. Louis Ave in North City.
  • Freedom Suits Memorial Foundation: The Freedom Suits Memorial Foundation is holding its second annual Juneteenth Celebration. It will be held at the Freedom Suits Memorial Plaza at the St. Louis Civil Courts Building in downtown St. Louis from 10:00 a.m. – noon. The keynote address will be given by St. Louis NAACP President Emeritus Adolphus Pruitt. There will also be music by the Black Brass Band and drumming by Kenya Ajanku
  • Dellwood Juneteenth Festival: Dellwood is partnering with Bridge the Gap 314 and the ACLU for the Dellwood Juneteenth Festival. There will be a parade at noon followed by activities including vendors, food trucks, gaming trucks for kids, voter registration, health screenings and free mammograms. There will also be a panel discussion on violence in schools. After the panel, an expungement clinic will be offered from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., followed by a concert and fireworks.
  • Arch City Defenders Juneteenth Kickoff to Freedom Summer STL: An event that will go from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and will feature voter registration, civics training, voter rights registration and civics training. For more, click here.
  • C.A.L.L.: The Center for Authentic Learning and Listening (C.A.L.L.) is holding a Juneteenth Celebration in honor of Lake Placid, Mo, which was a recreational haven for African Americans in the middle of the 20th century. There will be brunch and live jazz music.
