The Lufkin Juneteenth Association will host its annual Juneteenth celebration Saturday, June 14, continuing a more than 45-year tradition honoring Black history and promoting cultural unity.

The celebration, sponsored in part by Work for Humanity, kicks off with a community parade at 10 a.m. from Brandon Park on Keltys Street. The free celebration, themed “A Summer of Celebration of Culture,” will continue throughout the day with food, games, speakers and free resources for families. The main event is scheduled for noon and will feature speakers honoring the history and significance of Juneteenth.
