Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, will be celebrated with a plethora of events around the metro area starting this weekend. We’ve rounded up a guide to some of the events.

Chamblee Rocks: Juneteenth Celebration
The city’s inaugural celebration is Friday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m. on the greenspace of Chamblee City Hall, 3518 Broad St. The event will feature food trucks and a free concert of Motown hits by the Ray Howard Band and hip-hop/R&B tribute band No Diggity.

Juneteenth Atlanta Parade & Music Festival
The celebration will take place Saturday and Sunday, June 14-15, at Piedmont Park from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days. The parade is Saturday at noon and steps off at noon near Ebenezer Baptist Church and makes its way up Boulevard/Monroe Drive to the park. There will be music, vendors, food, a 5K run and more.

Juneteenth Jubilee in Tucker
The city will host the fourth annual Juneteenth Jubilee on Saturday, June 14, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at 4316 Church St. Bring a blanket and lawn chairs to hear live music and play lawn games. Bring a picnic or purchase food onsite.

Oakland Cemetery
The Juneteenth Family Festival features storytelling, music, tours, and a reading by Dr. D.L. Henderson, author of “Perpetual Segregation: Chronicling the Black Side of Atlanta’s Oakland Cemetery.” Saturday, Jan. 14, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

 The Atlanta History Center 
The free event will feature music, food trucks, a Makers Market, and a talk on the history of Black craftsmanship by Atlanta artist and author Robell Awake.  Sunday, June 15, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All events are inside so it’s rain or shine.

Juneteenth at City Springs
Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, and Brookhaven are teaming up to present a free, family-friendly 2025 Juneteenth Celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. on June 19 at City Springs with a mix of live performances, educational experiences, and immersive art exhibits.

Smyrna Juneteenth Festival
The free community event will be held Thursday, June 19, at Village Green Park starting at 5 p.m. The evening will feature live entertainment including a concert by Rita Graham. There will also be family-friendly activities, food and additional special guests. 

High Museum
The Midtown museum will host a Juneteenth Celebration on June 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring music, poetry, art-making classes, a pop-up shop and more.

Marcus Bar & Grille
The restaurant, owned by Chef Marcus Samuelsson, will serve a four-course tasting menu for dinner on June 19, starting at 5 p.m. Tickets are $65 per person

Bien Vegano Market
On June 22, a Juneteenth edition of Bien Vegano Market takes place at King of Pops world headquarters on Decatur Street. Starting at 4 p.m., expect vegan food from Black restaurant pop-ups and chefs, along with drinks, DJs, and dancing.
