Natchitoches, La. (KALB) – Natchitoches is getting ready for its 3rd Annual Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 15!
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. with a basketball tournament at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center. After that, there will be games, a health fair, shopping and performances by the Glam Dolls and Weaver Elites.
Then, at 6 p.m., the party moves downtown to the riverbank. DJ Chris will be spinning tunes, there will be live music from Tipsey the Band and Chris Ardoin and plenty of food and fun activities for kids!
“It’s a great chance for us to hang out, celebrate our culture and have fun together,” shared Mayor Ronnie Williams. “I’ve seen some cool Juneteenth t-shirts on Facebook, so it’s exciting to see what everyone’s wearing. Let’s dance, enjoy each other’s company and have a blast!”
The day is set to end with an amazing fireworks show around 9:45 p.m.
