SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Earlier today, DeBartolo Performing Arts Center hosted a Juneteenth Celebration over at Notre Dame.
It’s the second year this family-friendly event promotes and supports local businesses, particularly black-owned businesses.
The ‘Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair’ is meant to mark the end of slavery in the US.
It falls on June 19th each year.
Those who attended enjoyed an afternoon of free food from local food trucks, giveaways and good music.
The event also offered everyone the opportunity to explore campus via the newly established arts gateway.
