
OKLAHOMA CITY (KSWO) – The Oklahoma Historical Society will be hosting its annual Juneteenth Commemoration in the upcoming month.
The event is being held at 6 p.m. on June 19, at the Oklahoma History Center.
This annual event is organized by the Black Heritage Committee and the Oklahoma Historical Society.
It is a free educational program and no registration is required.
Light refreshments will be served during the event.
Juneteenth is the celebration of the proclaimed ending of slavery in Galveston, Texas on June 19th, 1865.
