LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Though Juneteenth has passed, Lawton City Council is getting ready for next year, clarifying which Juneteenth organization to support.
City Manager John Ratliff said in years past, there have been competing organizations.
The agenda items established for the time being, the Lawton-Fort Sill Citywide Juneteenth Committee will receive sole support from the City Council.
While the original agenda item specified financial support, a motion was made and passed to broaden to all support.
