PENSACOLA, Fla. — The second annual Juneteenth UnityFest happened Wednesday in honor of the holiday.
The event was co-hosted by attorney Troy Rafferty and Adoration For A New Beginning Church.
The community came together to celebrate African American culture through live music, food, and other activities.
“It is so important that we take the time to recognize our ancestors,” resident Angela Tyson said. “History has made its day on this day.”
“It’s just to celebrate Juneteenth and come out with your family and friends and have a great time,” resident Jekylan Johnson said.
UnityFest is a free event welcome to people of all ages.
A new addition to this year’s event was traditional African Griot Storytelling.
