STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — Final preparations are underway for the Second Baptist Church’s in Steubenville’s annual Juneteenth Festival, set for June 19-21.
The ninth edition of the festival promises a vibrant celebration featuring vendors, music, a basketball tournament, a foam party, and more.
A highlight of the event will be a community parade, which will travel from The Fort to the Second Baptist Church.
“It is a community event. We want to make sure that we show the collective of the entire community,” Pastor Jeffery Stanford said. “We want to make sure that our community is highlighted, and all the things that this beautiful community of Steubenville actually does.”
While the festival is community-driven, members say the history of Juneteenth is the primary focus of the festival.
