PRATTVILLE, Ala. (WSFA) – The Marlon and Marcus Foundation, State Representative Kelvin Lawrence, and Prattville City Councilman Marcus Jackson will host a family night concert for the city of Prattville.

They are hosting their 2nd annual Juneteenth Family Concert to honor the contributions of African-Americans, remembering the emancipation of those who were enslaved.

The celebration will include live entertainment, local food, retail vendors, and community resources.

“Juneteenth is a time to celebrate emancipation and liberation, while recognizing there’s more to do to fully achieve freedom for all. It is a celebration to commemorate the often-unspoken work of local African Americans and to continue a tradition of bringing the community together. We hope that families will come out and enjoy the fellowship and festivities,” said councilman Jackson.

The event will be held at Mac Gray Park located at 1050 Martin Luther King Drive. That’s located near Tim’s Vinyl Siding and Taylor Made Services Company.

The event starts at 4 p.m. on June 19.

Admission for the concert is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs.
