BURR RIDGE, IL – Two more men were arrested in the last few days for their roles in a mass shooting during a Juneteenth celebration in 2023 near Burr Ridge, authorities said.

Police said the shooting left one man dead and 22 injured.

Fredrick Turner, 20, of Chicago, and Franshun Jordan, 24, of Villa Park, have been charged.

In October 2023, Anthony Mothershed, 19, of Aurora, was arrested in the shooting.

Shortly after midnight June 18, 2023, DuPage County sheriff’s deputies were alerted about gunshots during the celebration at a shopping center at Route 83 and Honeysuckle Rose Lane. It is in an unincorporated area across the highway from Burr Ridge.

Authorities said 31-year-old Reginald Meadows of Willowbrook had been shot and killed.

During the event, Turner and Jordan were standing outside Legacy Beauty Supply, which is part of the shopping center.

According to DuPage County prosecutors, Turner became agitated, ran toward the parking lot between cars, chased another person and shot at the person but also into the dense crowd.

Jordan ran into an alcove near the front of Legacy Beauty Supply and then emerged from the alcove. He ran toward the parking lot and shot at people leaving on foot and in cars, prosecutors said.

Both men were reported to have fled separately.

Deputies apprehended Turner on Tuesday and Jordan over the weekend.

Both men were charged with two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm. Turner was also charged with one count of aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm.

Mothershed faces one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm in the direction of another person and one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Turner and Jordan were ordered to stay jailed until their trial. Mothershed remains in the DuPage County Jail.
