Musical entertainment will be by Chuck Lambert and attendees will be able to witness a historical figure portrayed by Lorraine Stone. Patrons will also be able to tour the T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center and see the exhibits. The money raised from this will go to the continued restoration and maintenance of the cemetery, located in Lincroft.
Friends of Cedar View is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was established to preserve and protect the more than 170-year-old African-American Cedar View Cemetery in the Lincroft, section of Middletown Township, to ensure the continued solemnity of this hallowed ground and to bring increased awareness of the cemetery’s unique historical and the overall cultural value that it brings to the public Tickets are $75 per person and there is a $6.88 additional processing fee. Seating is limited and, weather permitting, it will be a Garden Style Party on the front lawn of the Cultural Center, weather. Otherwise, it will be held inside the Center.
There will be gift baskets and door prizes available.
