The Juneteenth Public Education Mass Meeting is set for June 17 at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
The event will be led by Sen. Robert Stewart, Alabama State School Board member Dr. Tonya Chesnut and Rep. Prince Chestnut.
There will be free barbeque, a book giveaway, and health screenings at 4 p.m. before the meeting to support public education advocacy.
Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church is located at 1306 Union Street in Selma.
