On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the Goose Creek NAACP will host the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Youth
Summit at the Goose Creek Recreation Complex. This year’s theme—”Claim Your Space: Speak Truth.
Shape Tomorrow.”—invites youth to step into their power and embrace their voices for change.
The summit will feature dynamic workshops including a Graffiti Art Experience with Daniel Green, a
Social Media Branding Workshop to build online influence, and a Mic Check: Youth-Led Discussion
moderated by Kris Kaylin. The Deninufay African Dance Company will also deliver an engaging cultural
performance.
All registered youth will receive a free lunch, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
This year’s event also includes the Black Business Expo, hosted in collaboration with the Nu Alpha
Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The Expo will highlight local Black-owned
businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations.
