INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, is observed annually in the United States on June 19. The holiday, first recognized as a federal holiday in 2021 after President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law, commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States.

Indianapolis has several Juneteenth events happening throughout June. Below is a round-up of local events around Indy where you can celebrate Juneteenth.
