DOVER, Del. – Juneteenth is just days away, which means the annual Delaware parade is right around the corner.
Saturday, people from across the Eastern Shore will be gathering in Dover to kick off the day’s activities.
The event will feature a festival and different resources for community members to take advantage of.
Event coordinator, Cleveland Wilson, said the festivities will remind people of the triumphs that the Black community has experienced.
“It’s about freedom. We want to make sure that people understand that they can’t be free without actually having some type of opportunity,” Wilson said.
The Parade will kick off at 12PM at the top of West Loockerman Street.
