FORT CARSON, Colo. (KKTV) – Many Fort Carson personnel will be off for the Juneteenth holiday, and several gates will not be accessible during that time.
The Mountain Post posted on social media that gates four, six, and 19 would be closed Wednesday.
Along with Fort Carson, the city of Colorado Springs announced several offices that would be closed to mark the holiday:
- Administrative offices for Mountain Metropolitan Transit
- City Administration Building
- City Auditorium
- City Clerk
- City Hall
- Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum
- Deerfield, Hillside, Meadows Park and Westside Community Centers
- Municipal Court
- Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Administrative Building
- Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site
- Sales Tax Office
- Sports Office at Memorial Park
- Therapeutic Recreation Program at Westside Community Center
Colorado is one of several states that recognizes the holiday for its government workers.
