Residents who are interested in planning an event commemorating Juneteenth are encouraged to apply to the city of Columbia Juneteenth Grant. Applications are now available, according to a city of Columbia news release.

The application for funds is now available online at CoMo.gov, and general guidelines for the application can be found on the document. Paper applications are available at the Columbia city hall (701 E. Broadway), the Walton Building and Visitors Bureau Office (300 S. Providence Road), and the Gentry Building (1 S. Seventh St).

Applications must be emailed to JuneteenthGrant@CoMo.gov or hand-delivered or mailed to 300 S. Providence Road, Columbia, MO 65203 by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14.

There will also be a workshop for applicants in mid- to late January at the Walton Building. The workshop will provide an opportunity to ask questions regarding the application process and receive assistance.
