FARMVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – The Town of Farmville invites the community to the Juneteenth Jubilee: A Celebration of Music & Veterans, a free, family-friendly event.
It will be Saturday, June 28th at 4314 West Horne Street, Farmville Municipal Parks, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The Jubilee commemorates the spirit of Juneteenth while honoring the service and sacrifice of our U.S. military veterans.
The celebration will feature live music, a small business marketplace, youth activities, food vendors, historical exhibits, and veteran recognition ceremonies. The keynote speaker for the event is General James Gorham, a North Carolina native and trailblazing military leader, who will offer remarks on freedom, service, and unity.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865—the day enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free, marking the true end of slavery in the U.S. Now a federally recognized holiday, Juneteenth stands as a symbol of liberation, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice.
