JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WAVE) – In celebration of Juneteenth, the City of Jeffersonville is holding a block party.
The party began Friday at 10 a.m. and goes on till 10 p.m.
It’s at NoCo Arts and Culture District of Jeffersonville on Michigan Avenue between 6th Street and 7th Street where there are plenty of vendors and food. There are also celebrations of Black art and culture.
Officials at the event say it’s for everyone to enjoy.
“I hope everybody comes down. You don’t have to be from Jeffersonville. You don’t just have to be a Black person to come down. It is for everybody, it’s an American holiday, and we want to share it. If you don’t know much about it, come down, look for me, and I’ll be glad to give you some education about it,” Dominique Williams said.
