
Members of the McNair community shrugged off the heat and brought out their lawn chairs and umbrellas. They tried to take advantage of any shade as they sat along Broad Street with family and friends to watch Saturday morning’s annual Juneteenth parade, a favorite staple of the community.
“It’s just a joy when all the community members come together,” event organizer Karen St. Julian-Thomas said. “It’s like a homecoming. Everyone is really excited about the parade.”
