Ricky Tyrone Thompson III, 17, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for shooting one of the victims injured in the mass shooting at a Juneteenth celebration in Round Rock that also left two women dead.
According to a criminal information filed by the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office, Thompson intentionally, knowingly and recklessly caused bodily injury to the victim by shooting them with a firearm.
The shooting at Old Settlers Park resulted in two fatalities and 14 injuries. Lyndsey Vicknair, 33, and Ara Duke, 52, both mothers from the Round Rock area, were killed in the incident. The charge against Thompson relates to one of the 14 individuals who were wounded but survived.

Thompson was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on June 20 and booked into the Williamson County Jail. He has been charged with a second-degree felony.
Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks said Thompson was not the only shooter at the event and that police are still seeking other suspects. The shooting erupted as a result of an altercation between two groups at the celebration attended by hundreds.
Banks noted that Thompson has not been charged with murder at this time, pending further developments in the investigation. Police are asking anyone with information, photos or video related to the shooting to contact them as the investigation continues.
