East Texas (KLTV/KTRE) – Here is a look at the weather where you live: Good morning, East Texas! Showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible along a sea breeze today so it would be a good idea to keep the umbrella close again. This AM we’re starting off in the middle 70s with partly to mostly cloudy skies and a few showers already out and about. Greatest coverage of today’s showers and storms will likely be throughout the afternoon and early evening hours, but some additional showers could continue overnight and early tomorrow morning before yet another round of sea breeze showers and storms fire off for some Wednesday afternoon. The reason for all this scattered rain is a developing system in the Gulf of Mexico. At the time of writing this discussion, it is currently labeled as Potential Tropical Cyclone One, but will likely be upgraded to Tropical Storm Alberto later today. Central and south-central Texas will see the greatest amount of rainfall from this system (likely 5.00″-10.00″+), but our southern and southwestern counties could see upwards of 1.00″-2.00″ of rain by the middle of the week. The silver lining to these returning storms is our temperatures each day! We’ll still likely see some upper 80s and lower 90s today but expect middle to upper 80s for highs on Wednesday afternoon, albeit with a lot more humidity to deal with as well. Skies are set to trend mostly dry Thursday through Sunday, although an isolated shower or t’storm each day could be possible as temperatures steadily climb into the lower to middle 90s Friday through Sunday of this week.
