The City of Summit will commemorate Juneteenth with its fourth annual community celebration on Friday, June 20, 2025, offering an evening of live music, cultural performances, and family-friendly activities on the Village Green.

According to information released by Summit Mayor, the event will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 356 Broad Street and is free and open to the public.

This year’s celebration will feature a variety of performances and activities designed to honor the significance of Juneteenth while bringing the community together. 

The program opens with Eda Ne Kakati (From the Past to the Present), a performance blending dance, music, and storytelling. 

Other highlights include live steel drum music by AfriCarib, a spirited Zumba session led by Jaquetta, a Double Dutch demo by Double Dutch Lyfe, and a headline concert by The Priceless Band.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • 4:30PM – 5:15PM: Eda Ne Kakati performance
  • 5:15PM – 5:45PM: AfriCarib steel drum band
  • 5:45PM: Flag raising ceremony with remarks
  • 5:45PM – 6:15PM: Zumba with Jaquetta
  • 6:15PM – 6:30PM: Double Dutch Lyfe demo and participation
  • 6:30PM – 8:00PM: The Priceless Band concert

Alongside the entertainment, attendees can enjoy local food trucks, children’s activities, and a vendor fair showcasing Black-owned businesses and nonprofit organizations.
