
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WKOW/CNN) — One teen is dead and another is hurt after a shooting at a Juneteenth celebration in Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said a third teenager was taken into custody.

“I would say that it’s unfortunate, but unfortunate isn’t the right word. It’s infuriating. We have an event that’s supposed to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday and it ultimately ends [with] another young man being killed,” said Chief Deputy Daniel Hughes.
The sheriff’s office said it received a call about dozens of young people fighting at the event. A detective arrived and saw a suspect shooting toward a playground and opened fire on the shooter.
Officials said the suspect ran from the scene and was later arrested. That teen was not hurt.
