The Round Rock Police Department announced Friday night it secured additional warrants for one of the suspects involved in the deadly Juneteenth celebration mass shooting this summer.

Keshawn Leray Dixon, 18, now faces two counts of murder and 13 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is the first of three suspects arrested in connection to the shooting who is now facing murder charges.

Dixon, who is currently in custody at the Williamson County Jail on a charge of deadly conduct related to the shooting, will remain in custody as the new charges are brought against him.

Christopher Duke, the husband of Ara Duke (one of the victims killed in the shooting), released a statement on these new charges. He stated, “I am grateful to the Round Rock Police Department for their diligence and commitment in this case. I am hopeful this arrest will help with closure and the future healing process. I continuously pray for all of the families involved.”

The shooting happened during the annual Juneteenth celebration at Old Settlers Park on June 15, 2024. Two women were killed and 14 others injured.

The first suspect, Ricky Tyrone Thompson III, 17, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The second suspect is a minor whose case is being handled behind closed doors in Williamson County.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
